This is my favorite Pixar short movie! It's funny when knowing how those clouds above make babies. The point actually about the friendship, among Gus, a lonely and insecure grey cloud and Peck, his loyal delivery stork partner. Gus is a master for creating dangerous babies, such as crocodile. Gus thought that Peck has betrayed him, but he's all wrong, because Peck is a most loyal stork ever. Very touchy at the ending. Love it, love it! And as always, i want to share my happiness, you can either watch it or download it. Enjoy! ☺

And here it is, i've posted the album of my back sound song on this web. Also because a request from a a friend, papirazzi. Marie Digby is a 26 years old American singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist. Half Japanese and half Irish American singer, has three studio albums, and this album is her first one. Digby's music typically easy listening pop music with songs about love. My favorites are Miss Invisible, Say It Again and Better Off Alone. Different tone, though. Anyway, is it just me or it is true, when i listened to one track, Fool, it reminds me of Michelle Branch's music. Is it?

Let's painting with sand.

I found this video about a a year ago. I almost forgot i have this amazing video, until i found it again in my laptop today (yea, i downloaded it!). It's Ksenia Simonova, a sand painting artist from Ukraine. I'm kinda like her name, i love eastern europe name actually. That's why i put the name Svetlana means a light in one of my novel. Well, let's back to Simonova. I've seen other sand painting artists, from different countries, and i think Simonova the best one: her creativity, her speed, and the way she moves her hand very gently but in a sharp move. Music Review: The Go Find - Everybody Knows It's Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight

The Belgian musician, Dieter Sermeus, as a frontman made an electronic indie project called The Go Find. With Tim Coenen (drums/guitar), Nico Jacobs (guitar/synthesizer), Peter Pask (bas), Bob Hermans (sound) and Joris Calluwaerts (piano/synthesizer/organ), this one is their third album produced by an independent label, Morr Music. Basically, they have a very easy listening music with a lil touch of electronic. It's automatic, as the new single from this album, isn't good enough to sell the album, at least from my opinion. However, Everybody Knows It's Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight track is perfect when they put it on their first single, as good as they put it on their album title. You could hear other catchy tracks on Cherry Pie or Lottery Man. And for the rest track? Just Go hear it, and Find the answer.

Music Review: Heyhihello! - Keep You on Your Toes

Actually this album not "a-new-release-album". It was released in August 2009, and this is the first EP album from Heyhihello!. The first thing that came on mind when i heard of those songs is "Wow, it's very Owl City!", even the frontman itself, Jakub Andrew, is typically American boy like Adam Young. Listen to In Colour, you can taste the same atmosphere when you hear Owl City's songs, a pop-electronic music that has been so famous in music industry lately. Not a good enough album i think, but if you're a big fan of pop-electronic music, it's a must to have one, just for completing your library.

Music Review: Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Remixes

Still on my euphoria for the winning of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix in last Grammy Award as Best Alternative Music Album. Yesss, i am so happy because this is one of my favorite album in 2009. I do love Phoenix, and their last album is totally awesome! I am sure you guys already heard this album before, but i'm pretty sure also that most of you haven't heard the remixes album yet. I think not all of the songs being remixed properly. Armistice is one of my fave, but the remix sounds so weird. But, when you hear Lisztomania remix by Alex Metric, i think it's a well done. Lasso remix by 2 door cinema club isn't bad also. Not a bad choice to listen, but i prefer the original one. At least, this album is very available to pump up your mood.

Shades of Summer is a band from York, PA, with its member Andrew (piano, guitar, vocal), Justin (guitar, vocal), Steve (drum), and Nate (Bass). Basically, their music sounds like pop-rock, electronic, and acoustic sometimes. Somehow, they're remind me with Dashboard Confessional or Simple Plan. I think the best song in this album either Say You Feel It or Sing the Last Note. Pretty good songs that could make me repeat these songs over and over again.

It's a new-old!

I was so exited when i found my mom's old bag. Yes, i think it's a 17 years old bag, since my mom bought it when i'm in elementary school. So all i have to do is make a "lil' new" on it. I love vintage, but i prefer a not one hundred percent vintage. Put a bit of trend today on an old one would be great! Then i put one giant stud and two small studs, gold studs. And.. Voila! It's a new-old bag! 

And just a teaser for my next post (what? teaser on a blog? haha..), i found my old camera. Woohooo! A manual camera. A toy manual camera. I think this week is about found a treasure box! Hahaha.. But seriously, it's kinda treasure for me. It's like i found some old stuffs that becoming a trend again nowadays. Okay, gimme me a week to do some photo hunts, and i'll share you the photos! Do you remember Postman Pat? Yes, this is my favoooorite  old Britain animation. I remember, when I was a kid i'm always excited waiting this show on TV. I love this serial TV setting, looks so peaceful. And i'm also want the postman pat's red van! Hahaha. That's so cute van i thought. Most of all, i really heart its theme song. Ugh, i gotta download all episodes from Postman Pat! Hahaha. Well, let's singing..

bagian 2: hari baru

Hari ini saya mulai bekerja di kantor baru saya. Sebagai seorang Account Executive di sebuah agensi periklanan multinasional yang cukup kompeten di Jakarta. Hari pertama ini saya memakai kemeja model kimono berwarna putih dan celana jeans panjang berwarna biru gelap.

Masih jam sembilan. Dan saya tahu jam segini untuk ukuran kantor agensi periklanan masih termasuk waktu subuh. Bahkan meja resepsionis di lobi depan pun masih kosong. Seperti kuburan saja, celetuk saya dalam hati. Saya lalu duduk di sofa empuk berwarna merah dan mengambil ipod dari dalam tas saya. The Beatles. Kaki saya mulai bergoyang-goyang ketika mendengar lagu Day Tripper. Mata saya lalu melempar pandangan ke seluruh pelosok ruangan. Ruang lobi ini berwarna-warni. Dinding bagian kanan dan kiri saya berwarna merah. Sedangkan dinding bagian depan dan belakang berwarna oranye cerah. Antara ruang ini dan ruang di sebelahnya hanya dibatasi rak-rak berbolong-bolong berbentuk segi enam, seperti sarang lebah. Di setiap bolongannya dipajang beberapa action figure seperti Superman, Batman, dan para personel band Kiss, serta beberapa die cast yang tersusun rapi.  

Seorang perempuan berumur pertengahan dua puluhan masuk ke ruang lobi dengan tergesa-gesa. Membawa satu tas besar berwarna coklat tua yang disampirkan di bahu sebelah kanan dan satu buah tas jinjing kecil berwarna pink di tangan kirinya. Iya melempar senyum kepada saya ketika bertemu pandang dengan saya. "Ya mbak, bisa dibantu?". Iya menunggu jawaban dari saya sambil masuk ke meja di depan saya dan menaruh barang-barangnya. Saya pun juga menunggu untuk menjawab sampai prempuan itu selesai "bebenah". 

"Saya Lana, mbak. Hari ini pertama masuk." jawab saya akhirnya, sambil mengulurkan tangan saya pada perempuan di depan saya.
"Oh, Mbak Lana. AE baru ya? Ditunggu sebentar ya, aku hubungi Office Managernya dulu.."
"Okay.." saya menjawab singkat, sambil kembali duduk.

Hari pertama kerja pasti bagi sebagian banyak orang bukan merupakan hari yang indah. Masih harus beradaptasi dengan pekerjaan, partner kerja, dengan suasana kantor dan segala kebiasaannya. Saya pun begitu. Saya hanya berharap jam pulang segera tiba. Tapi, lagi-lagi, mana ada sih di sebuah agensi periklanan pulang jam enam teng? Saya pun hanya memandang layar laptop di hadapan saya dan kembali ngobrol dengan teman-teman saya lewat dunia maya.

Ini sudah pukul sembilan malam, dan jalan masih begitu macet. Oke, ini bukan macet lagi. Berhenti total.  Saya tidak bisa mebayangkan masih panjangnya perjalanan saya, dari kantor saya yang berada di Jalan Gatot Subroto, menuju rumah saya yang berada di daerah Pasar Minggu. Iseng-iseng saya mengirim tweet (istilah untuk sebuah pesan di Twitter):  Gatsu depan Bulog, istirahat di tempaaat, grak!!

Jam dua dini hari.

Saya berbaring di tempat tidur saya dengan mata yang masih terbelalak lebar. Padahal besok harus  datang ke kantor pagi-pagi sekali. Ada meeting dengan klien yang kantornya super duper jauh, di daerah  Kota, pukul sembilan pagi. Dan diwajibkan datang ke kantor terlebih dahulu pula. Mengingat saya AE baru, jadi saya masih harus 'ditemani' Account Manager saya. Saya jadi ingat, dulu seorang teman saya, pernah memberi saran yang cukup menarik: "Kalau susah tidur, coba deh inget-inget apa yang dialami sepanjang hari secara mundur,  relive reversely..". Karena waktu itu saya sedang tidak ingin tidur, maka dari setahun yang lalu teman saya berceloteh perihal "obat tidur" itu, sampai hari ini, saya belum pernah mengikuti sarannya. Dan sepertinya malam ini saya akan mencobanya: sekarang saya berbaring di tempat tidur - makan sebungkus sate padang yang tadi saya beli di jalan - menelfon sahabat saya, Aira yang sedang patah hati - bermacet-macet ria di jalanan kurang lebih satu jam dan hampir diserempet motor! - dikantor, dan sebelum pulang saya bertemu Account Director tim saya yang seperti nenek sihir - Iiih nenek sihir itu.. Nightmare! Begitu saya mengingat Acoount Director saya biasa dipanggil Mbak Rey, saya menyudahi 'aktifitas unik' saya itu. 
Dan terlelap.

Saya menutup pembicaraan di telfon dengan kalimat pamungkas saya, "Kalau ada apa-apa, call me, anytime!".

Klik. 

Telfon pun saya matikan. 

Selang dua menit kemudian masuk sebuah pesan di ponsel saya. Saya mengambil kembali ponsel saya yang baru saya taruh di meja. Saya lalu membaca pesan tersebut: Lan, ketemuan dong! Lagi suntuk nih!

Tanpa banyak berpikir saya langsung membalasnya: Ok, tempat biasa ya. Satu jam lagi.

Nama saya Lana. Svetlana.

Dalam bahasa Rusia berarti cahaya.

Saya tidak begitu mengerti sih, kenapa kedua orang tua saya memberi saya nama yang artinya cahaya begitu. Apalagi menggunakan bahasa Rusia segala. Sungguh aneh. Bukan kata saya saja. Banyak orang yang mengernyitkan dahinya ketika mendengar nama saya. Alasannya bisa bermacam-macam: ada yang memang merasa asing mendengarnya, ada pula yang bingung bagaimana cara membacanya.

Dan saya juga bingung mengapa orang tua saya begitu pelitnya memberikan nama kepada anaknya sendiri. Hanya satu kata itu, Svetlana. Kalau dipikir-pikir dengan anjing keluarga kami saja lebih panjang nama anjing kami itu, Arthur Conan Doyle. Iya, seperti nama pengarang Sherlock Holmes. Padahal anjing kami, yang dipanggil Arthur itu, tidak punya ciri-ciri sama sekali seperti anjing detektif atau anjingnya seorang detektif. Arthur adalah anjing French Bulldog yang setiap hari kerjanya hanya main, makan, dan bermalas-malasan. Air mukanya juga tidak jauh beda dengan kelakuannya setiap hari: muka pemalas yang berlipat-lipat dan terlihat menyedihkan.

Sekitar satu jam kemudian saya sampai di "tempat biasa" yang saya maksud tadi. Sebuah kafe di pusat kota Jakarta, tapi tetap terasa sejuk karena banyaknya pohon-pohon rimbun di kafe ini. Jadi, kafe ini saya rasa mengusung tema outdoor cafe. Semua mejanya berada di sebuah teras besar yang dikelilingi dengan banyak pohon. Baiklah, mungkin juga bisa tema yang diusung kafe ini adalah go green!

Aira, teman saya yang tadi mengirim pesan kepada saya, sudah menunggu sambil menopang dagu dengan mimik muka cemberut. Matanya sembab dan berkaca-kaca. Hidungnya merah.

Begitu saya sampai di meja, spontan Aira memnggil nama saya tetapi dengan suaranya yang begitu lemah, "Lana..".

Tangisnya pun kemudian pecah. 
Namun tak bersuara.

My Sister's Keeper Movie: Hey, there's no a keeper inside!

Just one of my favorite novel. Cerita yang sangat menyentuh dan membuat dapat membawa diri kita seutuhnya masuk ke dalam cerita ini. Bagaimana seorang anak bernama Anna memperjuangkan hak atas tubuhnya sendiri. Anna memang dilahirkan dengan faktor kesengajaan ketika kedua orang tuanya memprogramkan dirinya lahir ke dunia ini hanya untuk menyelamatkan kakak tercintanya, Kate, dari penyakit mematikan. Dengan berbagai kemisteriusan dalam jalan ceritanya dan akhir cerita yang sangat mengejutkan, saya sampai menangis membaca cerita ini. Begitu mendengar novel ini akan diangkat ke layar lebar, saya sangat antusias untuk segera menontonnya. Sekitar beberapa bulan lalu saya akhirnya mendapatkan DVDnya. Dan kekecewaanlah yang malah saya dapatkan begitu selesai menonton film ini. Pertama, Sarah Fitzgerald, ibu dari Anna yang notabene seorang pengacara dan ibu rumah tangga diperankan oleh Cameron Diaz yang menurut pendapat saya lebih cocok mewakili karakter perempuan enerjik, sedikit nakal, dan "tukang have fun". Hmm, umurnya pun saya kira terlalu muda untuk seorang Cameron Diaz mempunyai anak-anak remaja. Bagian itu menurut saya terlalu 'maksa'. Kedua, dan ini yang sebenarnya paling membuat saya tidak terima, Kate lah yang meninggal di film ini! How come?? Sementara di novelnya Annalah yang akhirnya meninggal, dan itulah kenapa cerita ini diberi judul: My Sister's Keeper! Kalau Kate yang tetap meninggal lalu apa arti dari judul My Sister's Keeper itu?? Since there's no keeper on that story. Saya sampai memutar beberapa kali bagian terakhir dari DVD, takutnya ada beberapa scene yang terlewati mungkin karena DVDnya rusak atau apalah, namanya juga DVD bajakan. Tapi tetap saja ceritanya sama juga. Saya masih tidak rela, sampai-sampai saya searching di internet, ternyata banyak juga orang yang kecewa dengan ending film ini yang berlawanan dengan cerita asli dari novelnya. And the biggest question on my head is: How could Jody Picoult let the movie ruin her story?? D'oh!

Vampire Diaries: Another Vampire Story

Iseng-iseng cari serial tv baru. Kata "mbaknya" bilang serial Vampire Diaries lagi laku banget. Atas dasar rasa penasaran saya yang terkadang berlebihan (padahal saya sudah tidak begitu tertarik, vampire story: pasti gak jauh-jauh kayak twilight..), akhirnya saya belilah serial tv ini yang baru memasuki 6 episode. Okay, setelah saya tonton, ternyata perkiraan saya benar. Biasa. Pemeran utama pria kurang menarik. Ceritanya tipikal cerita cinta vampire. Terus.. Oh baiklah, saya gak akan melanjutkan lagi, just watch it! :)
